‘Recitations’– A Bible Narration App

Current Progress on building an App to recite the Bible using the Horner Reading system. Below is the image of how the program looks.

  • Features:
    • A Calendar to look back on the progress you have made
    • Standard Mode:
      • cycle through the book lists
      • listen to specific books of the Bible
      • manually mark books as complete
    • Flow Mode:
      • play through all 10 of the lists in sequence
      • added musical tones between chapters to help break up reading sections

Current Main Challenges:

  1. Reformatting to fit a variety of sized devices
  2. Learning how to port to a variety of devices
  3. Getting permission to disseminate either existing ESV audio recordings or permission to record my own

An Autumn Escape to Glacier Lake

The world is a big and beautiful place. While there are instances when I appreciate a scene in its scope/totality,…

…things look better when you highlight one particular subject rather than a whole scene.

After all, most people go about their day observing their surroundings in much the same manner as everyone else.

Photography offers an opportunity to choose something (a berry, a rock, or some other innocuous object) and see it as something else entirely, as something incredible.

Once you have chosen a subject, there are two easy ways to bring attention to it:

  1. Change the focus. Rather than see everything as you naturally do, keep the primary subject in focus and everything else out of focus.DSC04361(Photo taken on the trail to Glacier Lake, MT)
  2. Change your perspective. Instead of looking at things from the normal height, shake things up a bit. Crouch down and hold the camera an inch from the ground, or two inches from a boulder, or perhaps next to a tiny creek waterfall.Creek Falls(Photo taken on the trail to Holland Lake Falls, MT)

You might even be able to combine the two tactics into one.DSC04404(Photo taken on the trail to Glacier Lake, MT)

I hope you enjoy these snippets.

That’s all for today.
